Funeral services for Mrs. Estella Allen, 69, of Danville, Ill, a life resident of Fountain County and former resident of Cates and Veedersburg who died sunday June 28 were held Tuesday afternoon at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Roger James, pastor of the First Church of Christ, 5th St officiated and burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery south of Wallace. Mrs. Allen died at 4:15 a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sam Boatman, 1206 Lorraine St, where she had made her home for the past 3 and a half years. She was a member of the Church of God in Veedersburg. She was born Nov 20, 1895 in Russellville, the daughter of Edward M. and Louisa Bell Grimes who survive. She was married Oct 29, 1914 to Charles Cleveland Allen, who preceded her in death June 12, 1959. Surviving ina ddition to her parents who live in Dallas, Oregon are 5 children, Mrs. Ila Bales of Veedersburg Rt 3, Donald of Korsicana, TX; Mrs. Delores Rogers of Veedersburg, Rt 2, Dale and Mrs. Boatman, both of Danville, Ill; 12 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Parker of Dallas, Ore and Mrs. Audrey Long of Attica Rt 1; and one brother, Joe Grimes of Veedersburg Rt 2. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Pallbearers were: Sam Boatman, Vernon Rogers, Vernon Bales, Charles Long, Larry Rogers and Duane Rater.
